Experience Life Magazine Featuring Recipe from The Kitchen Pantry Cookbook!
I can’t believe it’s been almost two years since the publication of The Kitchen Pantry Cookbook!
Earlier this year I was approached by the staff of Experience Life Magazine to write a piece about making your own condiments and salad dressings. It was really fun to go through the recipes and help choose what they would feature. We settled on Ketchup, Mayo with a bunch of flavor enhancing suggestions, Spicy Brown Mustard (one of my personal favorites), Balsamic Vinaigrette, Almond Butter, Tartar Sauce (check out the recipe testing notes on that one from Leite’s Culinaria) and Carolina Style Barbecue Sauce.So, if you don’t already have a copy of the book, here are a few more recipes to try! (Listen, I would love if you bought the book too. Every sale inches me closer to the royalty mark and God knows I could use a little royalty money! )
In the meantime, yesterday I met with Charity Burggraaf, the photographer for the upcoming book – Infusing Flavors. I’m really looking forward to working with her next month. I promise to post some images of our shoots.
Other than that, I am busy testing recipes. My kitchen looks like a mad scientist’s laboratory. There are mason jars with bitters, sodas carbonating, SCOBYs multiplying, ice cream machines whirling, vinegars and shrubs fermenting…Bwaa ha ha haa! (Can you feel the calories adding up? Oh boy! An issue for another day. )
